Origination of my login/email: corvus
Ran a BBS back in the mid 90's that dealt with the Stockton Astrological Society. Needed a nickname that was star-related. Chose corvus because it looked like a box (and it much like my personality was bland). Stuck ever since.
Blah, heres the SCSi story.
Many many moons ago, like in 97 or 98 a bunch of us were playing this tabletop RPG called 'Werewolf: The Apoclypse'... I was playing a computer savvy werewolf that traditionally had a computer-savvy name. I thought of cool names like Pixiliated, Interface, Serial, etc. But SCSI is cool because its said different than its spelt, so it sticked. I used it on IRC and its stuck since that. Its spelt SCSi (the i is for leetness not for gender(tm)) but most services arent case sensitive.
You'll see me once in a great while (like on AIM) as weekiethedazzler. Thats the name of my very first D&D character back in like 89 or 1990. Yeah, i'm a tard. He's a level 30/30 Thief/Illusionist, took me 10 years of playing to get him up that high.. :)
I couldnt hit my ass with my .270 at 200 yards.. I was getting some really wierd velocity fluxuations too (like +/- 600 fps, really whacky). I think the bullet is setting too far out of the casing, so its making some really wierd pressure curves when the round is fired off. Whats really strange is that I was using some lighter weight bullets (100gr VMax) jobbers that I reloaded a while ago, and I was getting like +/- 50 fps on all of them which is fucking awesome. Bullet is seated too high, gotta be.
Next I broke out the .223, and proceeded to make a nice 1.5" grouping at 200 yards. Measured the drop, adjusted scope, and put 5 within the bullseye ring. Now I have the proper bullet drop so if I need to touch something at 200 yards I can just dial my scope really quick and aim for it (rather than holding the crosshairs high).
So need to buy:
- Spotting Scope
- Decent scope for my .270
So when I go deer hunting (and sometimes at the range), I get blown a bunch of shit because I have a cheap ass Tasco scope on my .270. Now my rifle is nice, really really nice, and was given to me by my father for Xmas when I graduated college. Having a cheap ass scope on a nice rifle is like having a super nice camera body and a 1.99 plastic cheap ass lens on it. I really need to drop the 700 bucks (ugh) and buy a nice Leuopold scope. Lifetime warranty, no questions asked. Blah, 700 bucks though. The one I really really want is about 1200 bucks..
Wish i was a bazillionaire.
Up early this morning on a wonderful sunday (yes, 9:00 is early for sunday) to head off to the range to try out some new .270 rounds that I reloaded.
Looking at hitting paper at 200 yards. Since I can shoot a quarter at 100 yard with these things, hopefully I can at least hit the target at 200.

When I add movies to my list, its possible to have duplicates. Dont know if this is intended or not.
I <3 Misty Mundae. Too bad she only does Skinamax-type B-rated movies.
So on the 22nd im off to "the 'Nati" to accompany my boy B-Wheezy in a cross country adventure via his little honda. I've never been to Ohio, so it should be crunkyness cool time driving back. Since packing limitations forbid me from bringing my nice camera+lenses and my laptop, i'll just bring my little point+click jobber and rely on moblogging to document all the stupid shit we do. No lynx support for this thing. Baby jesus is crying.
